Yeah I’m with Brian on this one, it’s not really about the back compat, it’s about getting even less for the same money. In my eyes the ps3 already has many shortcomings; technically it isn’t even HD out of the box (even on the high end model) thanks to the crappy cable supplied, so much for “true HD”. It’s all the little short comings like this that add up, reduced BC just adds to the problem, and then of course there’s the price.

I feel like Sony understood the rules in the console game with the PS2 and some how forgot them with the PS3.

The compatability issue its self doesnt really worry me, the think i find worrying is the reversal of official stance and the change in hardware for pal regions
